Resume a file migration import session

Network-attached storage is a file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more accessible to networked devices.

Prerequisites

See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.

About this task

See Understanding PowerMax File for storage systems for an overview of PowerMax File.

The Resume operation begins a new import session in the Initialized and Resume from Paused states during the Initial Data Copy and Incremental Data Copy stages.

Use Resume to start an import session that is in the Paused state.

NOTE: If the file system on the destination system is low on space (reaches 95% of capacity) during import, importof the source file system will fail. In this case you can either ensure that enough space is available and run Resume or Cancel the import session.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system that supports PowerMax File migration.
  2. Select Data Protection > File Migration.
  3. Select File Imports.
  4. Select a session where the import state is paused and click Resume.
  5. Select Repeat Import Configuration checkbox.
Selecting the Repeat Import Configuration checkbox results in the repeat of the process of importing configuration from the source system to apply the changes on the target system. This operation is applicable when the session is in the Ready_to_Cutover state.
  6. Optional: Select Skip Failed Step checkbox.
  7. Do one of the following:
